Carrollton Man, John I. Davis, Succumbs at 78 

  John Isaac Davis, 78, resident of Carrollton, died at a local hospital at 
1:15 a.m. this morning.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel Wilson Davis; 
three sons, A. Gilliam Davis, of Suffolk, John Claiborne Davis of Newport 
News; and Charles Swain Davis of Carrolton; three daughters, Mrs. Swanson 
Gayle of Carrollton, Miss Mary Davis of Newport News, and Miss Eva Anne Davis 
of Carrollton: one grandchild, Mary Gwynne Davis; and several nieces and 
nephews. 

  He was a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church, and a White Swan Tribe 
No. 89 of Redmen. 

  His body is at the Baker Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
